Step on History at Swope Park as we commemorate the 150th of The Battle of Westport.

The Monnett Battle of Westport Fund is marking the 150th Commemoration of the Battle of Westport with an exhibition on Kansas City's battlefield.

Event will feature living history, encampments, the 2nd Kansas Colored Troops, storytellers, musicians, Civil War medicine, field hospital and embalming surgeon, children’s encampment and activities, tours of the Byram’s Ford Battlefield, and battle reenactments.

Education Day: Friday, October 24, 2014, 10 am to 2 pm
